LIVE PERFORMANCES

We're going to the National Arts Festival!!** **with your help

Exciting news! Ingoma has been chosen to perform at the National Arts Festival Fringe in Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown), Eastern Cape in June, in collaboration with the Amoyo Performing Arts Foundation, also based in Hout Bay.

Just like Ingoma, Amoyo aims to uplift low-income individuals through performance, and they are collaborating on a new musical theatre piece, written, directed and choreographed by Mandisa Qwesha, from both Amoyo and Ingoma.

"Nitasubiri (I will wait)" depicts a poignant father-daughter relationship set in a 1980s rural township. As Afrika awaits her father's return from the mines for her 18th birthday, the production explores themes of masculinity, maternal sacrifice, and relationships through spoken word, dance, and choral elements.

Now, the real work begins as we embark on fundraising efforts to cover accommodation, transport, and production costs for the performance in the Eastern Cape in less than 3 months. Your support on our Given Gain fundraising page or via email at info@ingoma.co.za would be immensely appreciated!

OTHER WAYS TO EXPERIENCE INGOMA MAGIC

If your Cape Town visit does not coincide with one of our performances, we can sometimes organise private performances at a restaurant or home of your choice.

Or if that's beyond your budget we are able to welcome visitors, by appointment, to our weekly Wednesday evening rehearsal, whether part of a guided Imizamo Yethu tour or just to visit us.
